

Born on March 8, 1931 in Rochester, NY, she was the daughter of the late Miles A. and Helen (Shepherd) Hollway.
She graduated from Clayton Central High School in 1949 and attended Nursing School at Rochester General, she then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Rochester as a Recruiter and later was stationed in Hornell as a WAC-AF Recruiter and while she was there, she met and married the late Hervy Hunt. Together, they moved to the Medina area in the 60’s and raised three children. For 23 years she worked as a secretary for FMC, Garrick Insurance Agency and the Presbyterian Church, where she was a member and also served as a Deacon and was also a member of the Medina Senior Citizens. She enjoyed hard work, knitting, enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, especially while camping and for 12 years after her retirement she stayed in Flagler Beach, FL.
Bette is survived by three children, Elizabeth “Bonnie” (Randy) Sutch of Medina; David (Betty) Hunt of Middleport; Cynthia (Joe) Szalay of Johnson Creek, NY; Ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a sister, Patricia Rider.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, 522 Main St. Medina, NY 14103 at 11:00 AM with the Pastor, Rev. Alfreda Morse officiating.
