Allen Arthur Maybury was born to Orlo and Merle (Thompson) Maybury on May 10, 1949 in Meeker. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Meeker. Following high school, Allen joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Korea and received the nickname “Skosh” from his troop.
On September 25, 1971, Allen married Martha Murphy. To this union, Steve and Sheryl were born. After their marriage ended, Allen married Jona Wigington on December 22, 1984 and was blessed with Darci.
Allen found employment at the county to support his family. He also worked on the oil rigs, TIC and for his step father. His last position he held for over twenty-five years at Colowyo Coal Company. He happily retired and enjoyed rubbing it in to those who still had to go to work.
Allen was a member of the NRA and the Sportsman’s Club in Meeker. In this spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, riding his Harley, going to dances and shooting his guns. Above all he was a devoted father and loving grandfather. His family will fondly remember him for his sense of humor. The more Allen teased and joked around with you, the more he liked you. He will be missed by all that loved and adored him.
