Eunice Joy Humphrey, of Meeker, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and those who cared for her on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Walbridge Wing in Meeker. She was 98. Upon EJ’s request, private family services will be held.
Eunice Joy Donat was born the daughter of Joseph Francis and Stell (Helus) Donat on October 4, 1927 in Skyler, Nebraska.
EJ loved all artwork including: graphics, painting and chalk drawings. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.
EJ raised two sons, Edward James and Michael Francis Hoke.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Stella Donat; and her son, Edward.
EJ was also loved by the many caregivers at the Walbridge Long Term Care Facility. She always kept the staff laughing and a smile on their faces.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in EJ’s memory to the Pioneers Walbridge Wing.
