

Alex Barnett retired Attorney at Law passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at home. He was born January 17, 1920 and is survived by his wife of 50 years Martha (Tiny) Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Rose Barnett, brother Harry Barnett, Atty.; sister Goldie Levitch. Survived by his sister Julia Cooper, sons Rusty (Carol) McFarland, Barry Barnett, Lyn McFarland, Randy (Melinda) Barnett, Martin (Jennifer) Barnett, his niece Mary Craig (Joel) Smith. His loving grand daughters Wanda Alexandria Barnett, Katharyn (Alex) Vranas, Diana Hepler Barnett and so very many friends. Among his many accomplishments include President of Memphis Ski Club, a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, an avid photographer and motorcyclist, was honored with a membership and awarded motor cyclist of the century. He was a pilot who built his own air craft. He enjoyed camping and traveling. And he was a story teller extroidainare, who never knew a stranger that he couldn’t share those stories with. The family thanks every one who loved him such as the Collierville Backyard Burger staff and the Dove Health care center. He was a WW II veteran of the Army Air Corps. In leu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
