

Alvin West Ferguson, 84 passed away May 23, 2016. He graduated from Bartlett High School, upon graduating from high school he served 4 years with the United States Air Force stationed in Japan. Upon his return from service he worked as a route salesman for Wonder Bread, retiring after 41 years. He was a Captain for A & A Guard Service for over 25 years. He was a deacon at Colonial Baptist Church, a member of Bartlett Masonic Lodge 211, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Al Chymia Shrine and member of the directors’ staff at Al Chymia Shrine.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eular E. Ferguson and Alma West Ferguson; sister, Ann Baldridge, brothers, F.E. “Edward” Ferguson, W.E. “Gene” Ferguson and L.E. “Louis” Ferguson.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margaret Carol Ferguson; daughter, Robin Edlin; sons, David (Janette) Webb III and Jason Webb; grandchildren, Lydia Edlin, Alison Webb and Sam Webb and one brother, E.E. Ferguson.
The family will receive friends on the afternoon of Sunday May 29, 2016 from two o’clock until four o’clock at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis. Funeral services will be conducted at ten o’clock the morning of May 30, 2016 in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar. Interment will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh-LaGrange.
