She was born to the late Lester and Mary Ball on May 6th, 1944 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Eugene Huckabee; her brother Larry Ball; her grandchildren Cody Holden and Chelsey Charnes.
Our mother was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her son, Gary Huckabee, her daughters Kathy Holden and Jeanne Charnes (Larry) and grandchildren Hannah Owens (Justin), Hunter Holden (Jessica), Brittany Huckabee, Ashley Velarde (Juan), Christopher Charnes, Makayla Charnes and 11 great grandchildren.
Our family will forever remember her love, devotion and the amazing cooking she did for the family, Our mother had a passion for bowling and she was a very good bowler who passed over her talent to her son, Gary Huckabee. She grew to like watching sports of all kinds, including wrestling. She was crazy about Pete Carroll, coach of Seattle Seahawks. The family spent many hours playing Dice and Skip Bo with our mother who was very competitive and would win the majority of the time.
A visitation for our mother will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119. The funeral service will occur on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM, at Memphis Funeral Home. Graveside committal service will immediately follow at Memorial Park Southwoods Cemetery, 5485 Hacks Cross Road, Memphis, TN 38125.
