Billy G. Briggs, Sr, age 79 of Memphis passed away Monday, March 24, 2014. He was born September 9, 1934 in Clarendon, Arkansas. Mr. Briggs was retired from the City of Memphis Fire Department and the US National Guard. He was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lillian Mengarelli Briggs; his son, Bill Briggs, Jr., and a host of family members and friends. A Rosary service will be 1 PM Friday, March 28 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with services following at 1:30 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Por Clares, or the American Cancer Society.
