I am in tears, I lived in Memphis from 1998_ 2002 and was was the greatest friend, and will do anything to help someone, I'm heart broken.

I'm writing this as an attempt to provide comfort to myself because I know that my best friend, my brother that I grew up with is resting and he has no more worries. My words are only mere words that will not bring Calvin back to us. We grew up in a time where there wasn't text messaging or social media. We actually had to communicate verbally with each other and establish real friendships and relationships not based on a Facebook like status. If you saw me, you saw Calvin. We shadowed each other. This thing called life does put some distance in your relationship, however Calvin is and will always be a part of my life. I miss him more than I can express in words. It is an honor to have spent so much of the early years of our life together. I love you and I strive to be as great of a man as you.

I will truly miss Calvin.  He was a good friend to me and my family as well as so many others.  He loved the Lord and was very giving of his time to serve the Lord.  He was very frugal and very practical.  He was a good provider for his family, a good father and a good husband.  I learned a lot from him.  He made an good impact on my life.  I will miss him.

I remember meeting a kind spirit at Memphis State who shared an interest in THE brother and we became fast friends and brothers for Life. I have fond memories of our time together on the yard and I am proud of the man, father, and Christian you became. 

I know that you are in paradise with our Lord and Savior.

Rest In Peace my brother and may God continue to watch over and bless your family.

This is a sad time for me Calvin. But it is also a joyous time for me knowing that you are with our Lord. Everytime that I think of the fun experiences that we had in college, I can't help but laugh. I'm crying inside but the lasting impression that you let in my heart keeps me smiling. Rest easy my Brother. :)

Calvin was truly a remarkable person that brought forth fun and laughter.  You made my Jr. & High School years full of great memories.  You will truly be missed.

Calvin was a true friend who was always available to help any way he could. He loved the Lord completely, his family dearly , and friends loyally.  We will always remember his humble spirit and positive energy.
