He was a member of Brookside Baptist Church, an Army Veteran and played in the 36th Army Band.
Mr. Brown retired after 40 years with the Memphis Publishing Company, first with the Memphis Press Scimitar and then with The Commercial Appeal. He enjoyed researching the genealogy of his ancestors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Bessie Brown, his brothers, U. Albert and Donald K., and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Brown.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Ann, two daughters, Jessica Brown (Richard) and Susan, and two grandsons, Joshua and Justin.
The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar at 11:00am Monday, March 18, 2024 followed by a graveside service at 12:00pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.
