

At an early age, he accepted Christ into his life at Greater Lewis Missionary Baptist Church. Danny was a graduate of Manassas High School, Class of 1962. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served three honorable years. He then went on to work for International Harvester where he was employed until they closed their doors. Danny then pursued a career in the trucking industry as a truck driver that spanned over forty years, also becoming an owner-operator until his retirement in 2019.
During Danny’s career, he obtained life-long friends along the way. He was united in holy matrimony to his devoted wife, Terry Harris, on September 25, 2000.
Danny was known to have a calm and mild demeanor, paired with a contagious smile, he always had a way of making people feel welcome and like a part of his family.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Marion Murrell, Jr.; his mother, Hazel Fentress Jones; his siblings, Helene Murrell, Walter Whitehead, Dorothy Turner, Anita Warren, and Eunistine St. Leger; and his stepson, Martavious Golden.
Danny leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Terry Harris Murrell; his children, Lisa Murrell, Leslie Holt (Mark), and Bryan Murrell, all of San Diego, California; his stepchildren, Sheldon Carr, Bryan Carr, and Derrick Marshall (Debra), all of Memphis, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, his siblings, Amelia Malone of Cordova, Tennessee, Milton Whitehead (Mary) of San Antonio, Texas, Earnestine Jones of Bartlett, Tennessee, Gary Murrell of Orlando, Florida, and Larry Murrell, Sr. & Jefferey Murrell (Ana), both of Memphis, Tennessee; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
