Danny Ray Stokes, Sr., 64 passed away July 9, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He owned his own paint contracting company in Memphis for 26 years. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed camping. He was also a car enthusiast, who collected classic cars. One of his favorites was his 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Indy Pace Car Edition. He also was a devoted father, grandfather and husband. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry David Stokes and Gladys Craft Stokes. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Stokes; a son, Danny (Cheri) Stokes, Jr. and a step-son, Mark Steed; grandchildren, Cierra Jordan Stokes and Devyn Stokes and a brother, David Stokes and sister Sonja Jean Sellers The family will receive friends, Tuesday July 12, 2016 from 1 p.m. until service time. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., all in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN
