I just found out about your passing brother. I’ve been looking for you for a long time. Was thinking about our time in Korea and at Fort Riley Kansas together. First to Fire Dave

David was a great soldier and good friend. I remember spending time with him in Berlin. Like eating popcorn in the NCO club. As a matter of fact he was the last person I held a conversation with the day I left Berlin. 
Also was blessed enough to see him in Memphis a few years ago and met his wife also. I was so happy for that time.

Oh my friend, I worked beside you and you tried to keep me in line. You were Always smiling and loved your job and your friends. Such a sweet soul. I miss you and love you!

It's hard to say goodbye to my beloved brother.
Life got in the way the last 20 years and we did not see each other that much but we had many adventures to come once you retired. Now you are gone way too soon and you have left a hole that cannot be filled.
I still see something or hear something and I think I need to share that with David. It will be hard to break that habit.
My granddaughter Gabby wrote a memorial to her great uncle David that I want to share:
"My dear uncle has passed away..... And words cannot explain the sadness my family and I feel with the loss of this bright soul.  He was always joking, loving, caring, the biggest fan of Elvis, just a ball of joy and light. 
He served over 20 years in the US army and watched the Berlin Wall fall. I will never forget the memories I had of you nor will anyone else."
I could not have said it better myself.

We were a bunch of kids, a group of friends that enjoyed hanging out with each other, we decided to create a group what was later called the Monday Nighters. The group usually met in the basement of the Wetter home in Madison Heights Michigan, to discuss the previous week, enjoy each other's company,  discuss the latest Gossip, we also may have had a Stroh's or two. Although we had to graduate and begins our life's, the few years we had together are fond memories. I will not forget David and family who afforded us the ability to enjoy each other and our experiences. 

It was a pleasure and a honor to work and become friends with David Wetter .  We spent many hours at work talking about things that were happening at the job or on personal situations . 
David , you fought the good fight and I know I speak for more than myself when I say you were loved and you will be missed.
Your Desoto County Sheriffs Department family will most definitely miss you . The time has come for your rest . Rest in Heavenly peace David Wetter …. You have earned it
