

EDNA ADAMS CURRY, passed away on December 27, 2013, after a battle with cancer. Born in Natchitoches, LA, she was 76. She was preceded in death by her father John Adams, mother Glenna Pace (Claude), brother William Pace (Evelyn) and sister Irene Thompson (John). She is survived by her three sons James (Susan), Michael (Amy) and Garry (Robin). She had five grandchildren, Michael, Kaitlin, William, Amber and Brandon. Edna graduated from Central High in 1955 and from Memphis State University with a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences in 1959. After teaching elementary school she joined the Tennessee Department of Human Services. Edna retired in 1998 after 34 years of working in child protection. She spent her retirement traveling and working in her church, Colonial Park United Methodist Church. Her church work included the United Methodist Women and children’s interests and protection. She was a member of the church for 45 years. Also, Edna was the owner of a childrens consignment store (1996-2009). A memorial service will be held Saturday January 4 at Colonial Park UMC, 5330 Park Ave, Memphis TN 38119. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. and the service will follow at 2 p.m..
