Ednita Scott Warmath, age 94, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Scotty was born March 3, 1927, in Nutbush, Tennessee (Haywood Co.), to Robert Eddie Scott and Juanita Harris Scott.
Scottie was a travel agent for 60 years. She was a faithful member of Eudora Baptist Church. She was an avid tennis player, playing in a seniors tennis league until she was 80 years old. She loved to cook and entertain her family and friends, at her home. Scottie was especially known for her chocolate chess pie and her prune cakes.
Scottie was preceded in death by her husband, William Carroll Warmath. She is survived by her children, Bill Warmath (Becky) of Byhalia, Mississippi, Carolyn Maier (Mike), of Memphis, Bob Warmath (Donna) of Germantown, Tennessee, and Barbara Barron of Memphis; and her sister, Bobbye June Clark of Memphis. She was fondly known as "Garney" by her grandchildren, Angela Goetz (Rob) of Collierville, Tennessee, Michelle McGregor (Nathan) of Collierville, Christina Maier of Memphis, Fiona Rashid (Tash) of Mission Viejo (Los Angeles), California, Sean Warmath of Plains, Montana, Thomas Barron of Denver, Colorado, and Abigail Barron of Memphis; and her great-grandchildren, Wade Goetz of Collierville, Jacob Maier of Memphis, Macy Goetz of Collierville, Coleman Brister of Collierville, Ashton Brister of Collierville, Aqsa Rashid of Mission Viejo, and Musa Rashid of Mission Viejo.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, November 19 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 10:00 AM, also at Memphis Funeral Home - Poplar Chapel. Interment will be in White Rose Cemetery, Gibson, Tennessee.
Flowers are welcome. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family request memorial donations be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
