

Edward Saul Prescott, Jr., 93, of Memphis, went to be with the Lord June 1, 2012. He graduated from Messick High School, was a member of Masonic Blue Lodge, and was a WWII Army veteran having served as a sergeant in the detachment engineer section in the Aleutian Islands from 1942 to 1945. He later retired from American Oil Co. (P&C Oil Co.) in 1984. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lurline, to whom he was married 73 years. He is survived by his daughters, Eleanor Merrill of Memphis and Judy Lucius (Wayne) of Atlanta; his sister, Ruth Dodd Parker; grandchildren, Angela Melton (Phil) and Chris Lucius (Laura); and great-grandchildren, Brent, Todd and Andie Goode and Bailey and Riley Lucius. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 3, from 6-8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue with the service Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
