Fay was born May 9, 1923 in Union County, Miss. to James Haywood and Minnie Ann Robbins. She died July 17, 2018 at Baptist Hospital, New Albany, Mississippi.
Fay is survived by her twin sister Eula Mae Caples of Ecru, Mississippi, and younger sister Patricia Ann Ticer of Wylie, Texas.
She graduated from Pinedale School in 1943. After graduating, she married Haskell Clifton Allen, who was killed during the invasion of Normandy on June 11, 1944. In 1947, she married L.M. Howard who died in 1982.
She was a member of the Shelby County Rescue Squad for 50 years. She was a member of Local 149 Bakery Worker's and Confectionary Union and retired from Wonder Snacks in Memphis after 47 years.
She was a member of Cherokee Baptist Church in Memphis.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN with internment to follow at Memphis Memory Gardens.
