

Evelyn B. Horn, age 101, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on March 27, 2026. Born May 1, 1924, in Memphis, Tennessee, Evelyn will be remembered with formal and respectful gratitude for a long life marked by steady devotion to family, faith, and community.
Evelyn was adopted by Grace Bishop (King). She graduated from Humes High School in 1942 and began her working life at Sears Crosstown, first at the switchboard and later at the front desk (reception), where she also aided with Security.
In her career, Evelyn worked for Dinstuhl's Candy and also taught and kept little children at Colonial Baptist Church on Quince Road in Memphis—faithful work that reflected her caring spirit and dependable presence.
On May 28, 1949, she married Robert Horn, Jr. in Hernando, Mississippi. She is survived by her children, Robert Horn, III and Larry Horn.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Horn, Jr.
Evelyn was an avid bird watcher, finding quiet joy and lasting interest in the natural world. She was also a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church, where her faith and commitment remained an important part of her life.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM At Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. A funeral service will follow the gathering at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
