George “Frank” Franklin Ferebee, Jr. passed away on October 27th in Germantown, Tennessee. He was born on October 8th, 1933, in Portsmouth, Virginia. Frank was preceded in death by his parents George (Frank Sr.) and Agnes Ferebee, his first wife Peggy Sue, and his second wife, Bonnie.
Frank was a graduate of Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia and The College of William & Mary. Before college, he served in the United States Army as a military police officer. After college, he worked mostly in glass and plastic production. Upon retiring from the production industry, Frank stayed busy with various jobs in Ashland, Ohio, including school bus driver and driver’s ed instructor.
Although very proud of his Virginia roots, Frank spent most of his adult life in the Midwest (mostly in Ashland) and was, to put it mildly, an Ohio State Buckeye fanatic. He also enjoyed working out at the Ashland YMCA, boating, and going to car shows to show off his Corvette.
Frank is survived by his children Susan (Tim) Dilgard, David (Kelli) Ferebee, and Mindy (Keith) Berry, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
Any donations in Frank’s memory can be made to the YMCA of Ashland Ohio or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
