George Chris Nickas, 86, of Memphis, passed away on December 22, 2015. The family will gather to receive friends on Monday, December 28, beginning at 9:00 a.m., with services to follow at 10:00 a.m., at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 573 North Highland Street. Interment will be held later in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Nickas proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. He was the Owner/Agent of Leader Realty for more than 30 years, and he enjoyed fishing with his brother, Charlie, and spending time with family. George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Zoe P. Nickas; his daughter, Emily Ferguson (Bill); his son, Chris Nickas (Ellen); six grandchildren, Kristin Phillips (Brad), Trip Ferguson (Lyndsay), Lauren Beaupre (Myles), Courtney Feinstein (Matt), Adam Nickas (Alison), and Ashley Nickas; and nine great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
