George Winfield Stewart

George Winfield Stewart, aged 95, passed away on December 20, 2025. Born on April 23, 1930, in Pottawatomie, Oklahoma, George was a selfless, beloved, kind-hearted, gentle, hard-working, and humorous individual who touched the lives of many.

He spent his early years in Oklahoma, where he graduated from Sallisaw High School and attended college. George pursued a career in the hardwood lumber industry, dedicating many years to his work before retiring in 2005.

George is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Leanna Carlyle Stewart. He also leaves behind his sons, George "Mike" Stewart, married to Susan, and William "Bill" Stewart, married to Nancy. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Michal Stewart, married to Monica, Chad Stewart, married to Holly, Ryan Stewart, and Kyle Stewart, married to Emily, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.

A resident of Memphis, Tennessee, George cherished his family, especially enjoying time spent with his children and grandchildren. He had a passion for working in his yard, engaging with people, and relaxing on his patio.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in George's honor.
