Gwendolyn Nash Boswell, age 92, was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Andrew and Vernon Nash. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and Kentucky State University. Gwendolyn taught in the Memphis City School system for several years.
She married Carroll E. Boswell of Seattle, Washington, a former Memphian. During her time in Seattle, she was in charge of the school district busing program.
Later after her husband's death, she moved back to Memphis.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her long-time friend, Gloria W. Cox.
Her remains will be shipped to Williamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon where she will be buried with her husband.
