Henry Tompkins

HMC (Ret.) Henry R. Tompkins aka “Hot Shot”, age 88 of Chula Vista, California, passed away Thursday, February 03, 2022. He was born in Buffalo, New York and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He was a retired Naval Veteran having served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He had a love for the Navy (27 years of service), cooking, great wines, traveling and compassion for all animals specifically cats.

Preceding his death were his parents, Roy and Nettie Tompkins and sister, Rosalyn Tompkins. Henry is survived by his wife, Ernestine Tompkins; children, April Allen, Lisa Tompkins, and Christopher Tompkins; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Henry is also survived by his oldest brother, Roy Tompkins, Jr. and his two sons and one niece; two sisters-in-law, Billie and Betty Ausley; brother-in-law, Bruce Ausley; along with many other nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.

A memorial service for Henry will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 3:30 PM.
