James R. “Ronnie” Mansfield, 66 of Millington, TN passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015. Ronnie was born May 3, 1949 to James E. and Marguerite Thompson Mansfield in Memphis, TN. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite college team was Nebraska, his favorite NFL team was Green Bay and his favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees. He was a collector of baseball cards, knives and hats. He loved to barbeque for family and friends. You name it, he could cook it, and it was great! Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; daughters, Casey Kirby (Ken) and Stacey Nelson (Bradley); son, Tyler Mansfield; step-daughter, Wende Johnson; grandchildren, Savanna and Morgan Dodd, Bryce Nelson, James Brayden Kirby, Hannah and Blake Johnson; one brother, Tommy Mansfield (Jan); nephew, Tracy Mansfield; and niece, Jamie Ivie. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave. from 1 to 2:30 pm with a memorial service to immediately follow at 2:30 pm.
