James Erie Tompkins

James Erie Tompkins, 81, went home to be with Our Lord on June 8, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Sylvia Tompkins and his brother Robert Tompkins. He leaves his wife, Monette, his children; Tony (Stephanie) Tompkins, John Tompkins, Julie Bridges, and Janie (John) Milby. He also leaves 2 brothers, Mike and Paul Tompkins, 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and beloved friends. Mr. Tompkins was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and was retired from Kimberly Clark Corp.

The family request that any memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Memphis Union Missions in his name.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 5-8 pm at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 11 am at Bellevue Baptist Church Chapel with a brief visitation prior to the service from 10-11 am. The burial will be held at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Kilmichael, MS. at 3:30 pm.
