With heavy hearts, the family of Major Jerry Elvin Bramlett (ACE), born September 2, 1931 to announce his passing on Sunday, February 16, 2020. We are deeply saddened by his passing but know he lived a full and blessed life. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his passing and has moved on to be with his parents, William A. Bramlett, Thelma W. Bramlett, a brother Jimmy W. Bramlett, and a daughter Sheila Smith Bramlett, all which proceeded him in death.

'Papa', as he was known by all, had a love for the farm life. He taught grandchildren how to ride horses, fish, and even cut and bail hay. Papa and Nana lived out their retirement just the way he wanted - surrounded by family and loved ones until his last breath. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. He will live in our hearts forever.

Major Bramlett is survived by his loving wife, Brenda F. Bramlett; his brother, Barlas G Bramlett; his children, Richard E. Bramlett, Teresa Elizabeth (Mike) Barnett, Keith Floyd, and Shana Lee; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with services immediately following at 2:00p.m at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN. The interment will be held at Memphis Memory Garden, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd., Memphis, TN 38134.

I spent many a Friday night at the Bramlett house. Watching movies and eating popcorn. Mr. Jerry treated us all like his own. He attended grade school with both my parents. So sorry I just found out of his passing.
RIP and hug Sheila for me.

Major Bramlett was a wonderful man that gave over 50 years of service to law enforcement with the Memphis Police Department. Our family loved Mr. Bramlett and really enjoyed spending time with him each year at the Memphis Italian Festival. He loved his family and his grandchildren. Our own family will miss him greatly. A life well lived that will be missed. Our prayers to his family. - Mark, Diana, Connor and Hannah Billingsley.
