John Joseph McCommon, 77, passed away Friday, February 12. John worked as a claims adjuster for State Farm and Ohio casualty before retiring. He was class president at Humes High School and then attended Memphis State where he received a bachelors degree in Business Administration. Gramps loved the outdoors, traveling, and watching his grandchildren’s sports and music performances. He is survived by his wife Chris of 39 years, his 3 children Jenny Haddad (Ellis), Bob McCommon(Sandra), and John McCommon(Mary Jo); his sister Marilyn Pettis, and 5 grandchildren, Alli, Jesse, Nicole, Natalie, and Jack. The memorial service will be held Tuesday, February, 16 at 10:00 am at Memphis Funeral Home with visitation to begin at 9:00 am, and continuing at Pecan Grove Clubhouse following the service. Donations may be sent in lieu of flowers to the Wolf River Conservancy.
