Joseph H. Carruthers, 71, of Memphis, died July 9, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. He was co-founder of Carruthers Ready-Mix and Carruthers Insurance Agency. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dunkman Carruthers; his son, Joey Carruthers of San Francisco, CA; brothers, Bobby Carruthers (Sally), Billy Carruthers and Hunter Carruthers (Sally); and his sister, Elaine Crafton. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12, in the Memorial Park Mausoleum Rotunda. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice .
