Kathleen Wilson Feaster passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021, at the age of 99. She was the only child of John William Ross Wilson and Ada Gregg Wilson. Born in Searcy, Arkansas, she grew up in Heber Springs, Arkansas and Vian, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her two children, Thomas W. Feaster (Rebecca), and Laurie Feaster Harwell; six grandchildren, Ashley Palmer (Brant), Ross Feaster (Amanda), Emily Chambers (Larry), Amy Harwell (Will), Charles Gray, and Zach Harwell (Elizabeth); and four great-grandchildren. She was looking forward to the addition of a fifth great-grandchild due in March.
She attended Connors State Jr. College where she was a music major and sang in a women's trio. She also met her husband Wendell Feaster there, and they were married for 54 years. Kathleen completed her education at Memphis State University and worked as a teacher with Memphis City Schools. She taught elementary students at both Knight Road and Willow Oaks schools, and retired after 27 years of teaching.
Kathleen was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Memphis. For many years, she played piano for and taught Sunday School and Training Union classes. She was also very active in First Baptist’s Triple L Club (Live Long and Like It) for senior adults and frequently sang in the church choir.
She and her husband, Wendell, enjoyed camping and traveling. They always had so much fun together and found humor wherever they went. Kathleen was not only musically talented but also created beautiful china paintings. She also found great joy in maintaining a rose garden. She will be lovingly remembered for all her endeavors.
Due to the COVID pandemic, funeral services will be private, at the request of the family. A public celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
