Leonard Lee Dunn

Leonard Lee Dunn, age 76, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Leonard was born December 18, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee to Leonard Leottis Dunn and Alice Randolph Whitaker. He graduated from Yokohama High School while his father was serving in Japan in the U.S. Navy. He received his bachelor's degree from Tennessee Technological University. Lee was a longtime high school science teacher and retired from Oakhaven High School in 2011. He was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing in various choirs, liked astronomy and was a vice president of the Memphis Astronomical Society. He also enjoyed acting and performing skits and was a volunteer with Mid-South Con.

Lee is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christine Ann Dunn; four daughters, Jennifer Lynn Moon (Jim), Beverley Jean Dunn, Linda Nicole Dawson (Ken), and Cheryl Lynn Harris; and six grandchildren, Belle Moon, Andreas Hernandez, Sebastian Hernandez, Charlie Harris, Olivia Moon, and Evie Dawson. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles R. Dunn (Alisa) and James W. Dunn (Elizabeth).

The family will receive friends at visitation on Sunday, June 1 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM, at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2 at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Graveside will immediately follow at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134. There will be a luncheon following the burial at the SMART Sheet Metal Division Local 4, 6735 Whitten Place, Memphis, TN 38133.
