Lonnie F. Thweatt, age 79, passed into Heaven on December 25, 2021. He was born in Memphis, TN on September 23, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie N. Thweatt and Augusta Spires Thweatt and his brother, Ray Thweatt.
He served his community as a Memphis Police Officer for 34 years and retired as a Captain. Lonnie was a member of the A.C.R.E Organization and a veteran of the United States Army. He had a great love for his family, his friends and antique cars. He enjoyed attending car shows and going on cruises. Lonnie loved to go fishing and hunting with his family and had an obsession with watching sports. But his favorite team to watch was the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lonnie is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Thweatt; his son, Ricky Thweatt; his grandson, Bryce Thweatt and two sisters, Judy Bryant and Donna Hollaway.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 10 AM until 11AM with services to follow at Hickory Withe Baptist Church, 17675 Hwy. 196, Eads, TN 38028. The interment will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133.
