Loretta Sue Thiessen Winn

Loretta Sue Thiessen Winn, age 79, of Germantown, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 13, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1934 in Hydro, Oklahoma to the late Bernard and Susie Thiessen. Loretta graduated from Hydro High School in 1951 and married Ray Winn of Weatherford, Oklahoma. She received a Nursing Degree from Hillcrest Nursing School in 1956. In 1963, Ray and Loretta relocated to Memphis, Tennessee where Loretta worked for 5 years at the V.A. Hospital. Loretta was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She loved her family and was devoted to them. Throughout her life, Loretta was a woman of prayer, often praying for the needs of her family and her friends. She trusted God even through the difficulties of life. She will be remembered for her encouraging words, her abiding love, and her enduring faith in God. Loretta is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ray Winn; her children, Mike Winn (Amy) of Bryant, AR and Kerri Pollan (Billy) of Germantown, TN; her siblings, Thelma Flanigin (the late Herman Flanigin, M.D.) of Little Rock, AR, Lee Thiessen (Cleta) of Hydro, OK, and Floyd Thiessen (Kay) of Richardson, TX; her grandchildren, Brian Pollan, Kimberly Pollan, Amanda Ward (Daren), Allison Maxwell (Jake), Mark Winn, and John Winn; her great-grandchild, Hannah Ward; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19 at 12:30 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue. The family will receive friends 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the funeral home Friday.
