Lynette Holifield Keep...age 68, died January 24th at Baptist Hospital after a long struggle with the disease of chemical addiction as well as COPD that greatly limited the quality of her life. She leaves her ex husband who cared for her for over 18 years, James Mickey Keep; her two step grandsons whom she help raise, Joshua Keep and Jacob Keep; a step daughter whom she loved, Stefanie Keep...all of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Jack Rodney Holifield of Tiptonville Tennessee a well renowned and respected doctor in Lake County Tennessee and her mother, LeaJeane Hall Fischer of Memphis. She had two younger sisters, Denise Elaine Holifield and Stephanie Lee Holifield, both of whom died early from tragic deaths. Her only child Traci Lea Cochran died 12 years ago after a battle with cancer at the age of 38. Lynette was a successful salesperson for many computer software companies that marketed a system to court reporters. She worked in Hampton, New Hampshire; St. Louis, Missouri and later Los Angeles, California before retiring due to her failing health and moving back to Memphis. She was a strikingly beautiful woman, both inside and out... We loved her dearly.
A memorial service reflecting her late conversion to Roman Catholicism will be held at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Memphis, TN 38122 at 10am Wednesday, January 31, 2018. The Rev. Richard Cortese, who was the conduit to her conversion, will officiate. A small reception will be held immediately after the service.
