

Mable Greenwell Lee, 85, of Memphis, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011, after a brief illness. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Poplar Avenue Chapel, and funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. Mable was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and was a retired registered nurse. She loved to travel and was an avid golfer and member of Chickasaw Country Club. Mrs. Lee was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church where she was active in the Women’s Bible Study, Women’s Ministry, and many other volunteer activities. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Lee. Mable is survived by her husband of 63 years, James A. Lee; two daughters, Linda Pope (Jim) of Memphis and Debbie Neal (Wendale) of West Memphis, AR; four grandchildren, Adam Neal (Brook) of West Memphis, Elliot Pope (Bridget) of Pittsburgh, PA, Emily Williamson (Josh) of Memphis, and David Neal of Fort Bragg, NC; two great grandchildren, Avery Neal and Meghan Neal; and three sisters, Edna Hook (Ed) of Orlando, FL, Billie Ralph of Memphis, and Mary Brennecke (John) of Birmingham, AL.
