Mary was called home Friday, April 21, 2017 at the age of 69. Her first love was the Lord and she was proud to be a saved, born again Christian. She was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church and loved her family and church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed dearly. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years at the time of his passing, John L. Cooper and her parents, Raymond and Mamie McCord. She is survived by four daughters, Samantha Edge, Daisy Cooper, Kayla Cooper, Angela Wayman; three sons, Walter Grant Cooper, Johnny Cooper Jr., Joshua R. Cooper; two sisters, Glenda Hays, Frances Stephens; 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Family will receive guest Tuesday from 6 to 9 pm and services will be held Wednesday at 11 am., all at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
