Michael was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Glenn.
A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Mike’s greatest pride in life was his family. He is survived by his children, Michael Glenn, Jr. (Michael) and his mother Donna Brister Davis, and Hunter Glenn and his mother, Lisa Talbert Glenn; his bonus daughter, Samantha “Sam” White (Taylor); his beloved grandchildren, Arlow and Noble Glenn; his bonus grandchildren, Hal and Hadley White; his greatest prayer warrior, best friend and mother, Mary Hart; and his sisters, Cristal Wooster and Melody Warrick (Steve).
Known affectionately as “Big Daddy” and “Superman,” Mike earned those names through his strength, generosity, and larger-than-life presence. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back and never hesitate to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His love for people was evident in the way he showed up for others — steady, dependable, and always ready with a story or a laugh.
For more than 30 years, Mike proudly owned and operated his own business, building it through hard work, determination, and countless relationships formed throughout the Memphis community. He took pride not only in his work, but in the independence and service it allowed him to provide.
Mike found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, savoring good food, playing poker, karaoke, and spending hours enjoying pinball. Whether gathered around a card table, casting a line, or sharing a meal, he cherished time spent with family and friends.
Above all, Mike will be remembered for his big heart, his unwavering love for his children and grandchildren, and the strength and protection that earned him the name “Superman.” His presence filled a room, and his absence leaves a space that can never be replaced.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, March 5 at Family Funeral Care 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN. Services will follow at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Memorial Park Southwoods.
