

Born on August 16, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee, Michael—affectionately known as “Big Mike”—lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and loyalty. Mike spent four years serving our country in the United States Navy, from 1968 – 1972. He also worked as a Sort Systems Maintenance Technician at the Federal Express MEM Hub for 37 years, where he was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and sense of humor.
Mike was deeply devoted to his family. He also found joy in spending time with friends, riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, and hunting.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marsha Bowers Price; his sons, James Price (Jenni) of Coldwater, MS, and Michael Price Jr. (Tracy) of Germantown, TN; a stepdaughter, Amanda Pyron; and eleven cherished grandchildren: Caroline (Troy), Landen (Sami), Jay (Julianne), Faith, Sarah Grace, Michael III “Trey”, Abbey, Matthew, Luke, Evan and Dylan. He also had three great-grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude Price of Memphis, TN, and his stepson, Chad Pyron.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of his life.
Mike will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his generous heart, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
