Nancy Maffitt

She passed away on February 2, 2026, preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents, two brothers, Edward and Larry Jones, and a sister, Linda Jones.

She is survived by three sons and their spouses: Mark & Kristin Maffitt, Mike & Terry Maffitt, and Brian & Denise Maffitt, along with two sisters, Nellie Watz and Betty Jones, one brother, Gary Jones, and sister-in law Barbara Jones. She had three grandchildren, Inglish Popescu (married to Mihai), Ryan Maffitt (married to Arielle), and Kevar Maffitt. She had one great-grandchild, Elaina (daughter of Ryan).

An exceptional typist, Nancy worked as a medical transcriptionist for several decades including more than 25 years at St Francis Hospital. She was an enthusiastic Memphis Tigers fan. On the creative front, she was a talented knitter and crocheter, which included producing countless caps and scarves for charity on behalf of East Win Christian Church, where she was a charter member.

Services will be held at Memphis Funeral Home, located at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM and funeral service at 2:00 PM.
