Nellie Stevenson Boyd was born on August 12, 1918, in Columbia, Miss. She was the youngest of seven children. She married Ford Boyd in 1939 and by 1940 they had moved to Memphis. They lived in Highland Heights for 66 years and Nellie was an active member of Highland Heights Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter and a faithful member of the United Methodist Women. From 2006 until her passing she lived in Dyersburg, Tn. and then Franklin, Tn. to be near her daughter. She is survived by Susan and Lloyd Ramer of Franklin, Tn., grandson Andrew Ramer and wife Becky of Thompson Station, Tn., and grandson Don Ramer and wife Andi of San Diego, Ca. She also left great grandsons, Bek and Taye Ramer.
Services will be Friday, June 23 starting at 10:00 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home preceded by visitation at 9:30. Reverend Rich Cook will be officiating. The family asks that memorials be made to the charity of their choice. Online condolences may be offered through www.memphisfuneralhome.net.
