She graduated from Humes High School and followed a career in computer programming and system analysis for the IRS and other federal agencies, including MIISA and NAVMAC.
Nina was a devoted follower of Christ. She was an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church for over 32 years and truly loved serving Jesus with her church family.
Nina had a huge passion for both art and dulcimer. She began painting early in life, continued to paint all throughout her life, and learned to play the dulcimer in the later years.
She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Karen Wilder Smith (Kue) and Stacey Alana Wilder. She leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Kevin Tharpe (Angie), Cheslie Tharpe, Austin Wilder-Dunlap, and soon to be grandson-in-law Neil Howe, as well as two great grandchildren, Makayla Tharpe and Anderson Tharpe. She held a special place in her heart for her sister Barbara Sue Moore and beautiful nieces, Tina Murphy (Greg), Lisa Hodge and Jamie Perkins (Tommy).
Nina is reunited with her father Kenneth Campbell Tompkins, her mother Mary Gaines Norwood Tompkins, her sister Joyce Ann Hodge, and her niece Kimberly N. R. Jordan in Heaven.
Nina Faye Tompkins is now at peace in the arms of her Savior!
A gathering of family friends for Nina will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bellevue Baptist Church, Pollard Chapel, 2000 Appling Rd, Memphis, TN 38016, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
