Mr.Haynes I only knew you for a short time but within that short time you have always been nice kind and respectful towards me and everyone that crossed your path , and if I am not mistaken my last time checking you in at checkpoint was my last time seeing you . But I will always remember when we was in our annual training last year doing self defense you had the whole class laughing cause you say what they was teaching us to do wasn’t gonna hold up we gonna have to use some street fighting and everything agreed with you . Mr. Haynes was always respectful to all he talked to or with I remember when he came over to the Warehouse and I saw him sitting and laughing with the residents talking about basketball or football, he was always talking about some sport with them. He was and still is a well know "Legend here at MLTC and Memphis State Tigers. He is going to be truly missed.  RIP Mr. Phillip "DOOM" Haynes.

Phillip "Doom" Haynes was one of our favorite sons and a dear friend to many from the neighborhood, who was able to transcend boundaries almost effortlessly -- from Humes to Northside, from North Memphis to Memphis State University, and from excelling on the hardwood as a basketball player to becoming a bank shot legend. And legends never die. Memories remain for a lifetime. Rest well DOOM! To the Haynes family and Doom's many friends and loved ones, I offer my sincerest condolences.

My condolences to the family, Doom and I been friends for over 40 years,his mother was my favorite teacher, we played together all over the city together, gone miss you brother. Love always  TIC Phipps ❤️

My codolences goes to Mrs. Haynes and family. Mr. Haynes was an awesome man.  I met Mr. Haynes when I was at MLCC in Memphis. He never once judged me. If you had a problem he would be there to listen. He had helped me out alot when I lost my husband. There's not too many correctional officers that would listen to you when you had a problem. I thank God everyday for letting me meet Mr. & Mrs. Haynes because if it wasn't for them I don't know where I would be at today.  You will be missed dearly.

While I didn't know Doom personally, him Bobby and Baskerville, are the reason I am a Tiger fan today.  He gave me a sweatband after a game against Loserville and I still have it to this day.

Rest well in peace and may the family be comforted knowing the positive affect he had on kids.
