Rebecca Burge Banks

Rebecca Burge Banks, age 77, of Germantown, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Rebecca was born June 13, 1948 in Memphis, Tennessee to Truby and Velma Burge. She graduated from Kingsbury High School and then from Memphis State University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Becky was a retired music teacher of Memphis-Shelby County Schools. She also taught piano and guitar privately in her home. Becky had a deep love of music and was fully invested in teaching and seeing her young musicians reach their fullest potential. She was a faithful member of First Evangelical Church where she sang in the choir and developed many close friendships.

Becky was an only child and leaves behind her extended family and many many close friends. The family would like to express a measure of thanks to the caregivers and staff of South Breeze Assisted Living where Becky had resided for the last four years.

Visitation will occur on Saturday, October 25 from 12:00 PM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Collierville, TN.
