Robbie S. Copeland

Mrs. Robbie Mae Stewart Copeland, 91, passed away April 30, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East after a short illness. She was born in Reagan, TN on January 19, 1925, to the late James Robert (Bob) and Julia Ricketts Stewart. Robbie loved the Lord and looked forward to her morning worship and private time studying the Bible. She was a long-time member of Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church, Bartlett, TN. She enjoyed golf, Bible study, bridge, dominoes and dancing the jitterbug. She loved her family and especially enjoyed Saturday night dinners out with the entire family, and Sunday family dinners at her house after church. Robbie was predeceased by her husband John Perrie Copeland, sisters Amy Stewart and Cornelia Stewart Hampson, both of Knoxville, TN. She is survived by three sons, Robert Copeland (Brenda) of Meridian, MS, Jimmy Copeland (Gwen) of Memphis, TN, John Copeland (Trudy) of Germantown, TN, and a daughter, Brenda Copeland Strantz (Jeff) of Bartlett, TN. Robbie also left five grandchildren: Rachel Colbert (Kevin) of Humboldt, TN, Amy Crabtree (Cham) of Memphis, TN, Rebecca Meredith (Michael) of Virginia Beach, VA, Chris Copeland (Megan) of Memphis, TN, Samuel Strantz, of Memphis, TN and five great grandchildren, a brother J R Stewart (Martha) of Franklin, TN, and a nephew, Rick Zehntner (Kathy) of Brentwood, TN. Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar will be handling all arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday May 3, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM with visitation again on Wednesday, May 4, from 9:00 –10:00. Services will follow at 10:00 at Memphis Funeral Home on Poplar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Reformed Presbyterian Church, Bartlett, TN, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
