Robert (Bob) William Moerer, Sr. Passed away Sunday, August 27 after a long battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Martha Earline Potter Moerer, his two children Kathryn Moerer Brown (spouse Michael Brown) and Robert W. Moerer, Jr (spouse Danielle Moerer). He had five granddaughters, Allie Benoit, Courtney Benoit, Mercedes Moerer, Payton Benoit and Mikayla Brown. He also had two great-grandchildren.
He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and upon discharge he worked for Boeing on the Apollo and Saturn space crafts, Borden Dairy and spent the most of his working life as a Switchman for Southern Pacific Railroad where they called him Milkman.
He enjoyed bowling until his seventies, Saints and Oklahoma football as well as women’s collegiate softball. More than anything however, he loved his family dearly.
He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
A visitation for Bob will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 5:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, followed by a memorial gathering at 6:00 PM.
