Dr. Dawoud studied and practiced medicine in Cairo before moving to London, England where he met his wife, Salma Dawoud and were married in 1972. They moved to the United States in 1975. He was a practicing Orthopedic Surgeon for 50 years. He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, deep sea fishing, and SCUBA diving.
Dr. Dawoud is survived by his son, Michael; his brother, Mamdouh; and sister, Nabeela. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Salma.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Friday, April 28 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 2:00 PM, at St. Mary and St. Rouis Coptic Orthodox Church, 501 North Mendenhall Road, Memphis, Tennessee. Interment will immediately follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee.
