Steven Leon Ward

He was the son of the late Paul Leon Ward and the late Johnnie Faye (Lambert) Ward (who died at Steven’s birth).

He grew up in Memphis, TN, graduated from Sheffield High School. He was an active member of Oakville Memorial/Eastwood Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized.

He joined the US Army and served honorably. Coming home, he lived in Iuka, MS and ran a lawn care business, later moving to Tunica, MS working in law enforcement and was a member of Tunica Baptist Church.

He is survived by his adoptive mother, Anne (Castleberry) Ward, his siter Paula (Ward) Hedgepeth and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Wayne Ward, his brother Rodney Burt Ward; his grandparents, Harrison and Maudie (Marley) Lambert, Lonnie and Omie (Aston) Ward and Jopp and Lollie (Miles) Castleberry.

A visitation for Steven will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:40 PM, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Road, Memphis, TN 38134.
