When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Helen, I'm so sorry for the passing of your mother. I know you have many treasures deep inside your heart and soul. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

When my mother moved to NHC, assisted living in Farragut , TN., Sue came to her door and welcomed her in a most kind way.  She always reached out in friendship to the residents.  She especially was excited to know that my mother had lived in Memphis; they enjoyed reliving their times there.  Sue will be greatly missed at NHC.  Dianne Sims for Nannette Hicks

I was so very sad to learn of Sue's passing. Deenie shared a darling picture of her on Facebook. She was such a vibrant woman, so smart, and full of life. 
The last time I saw her was for lunch.  Deenie, my mom, Sue, and I met at the Piccadilly (sound familiar?)and we spent our visit laughing about all our teenaged antics, walking down memory lane from years past.

 It was seven years ago, I know. She was still living in Memphis, still driving, and was amazed to acknowledge her 90 years. 

I think loosing Virginia was the most heart-wrenching experience I ever endured. Of course, I knew she was tired and able to participate in her own life. All the same, when the last day ended, I was heartbroken. Likely you both are in a similar place. 

May the days ahead be gentle ones.

I remember Ms. Batten from Humes High School also. She was a very sweet lady and a GREAT teacher. We all have PRECIOUS memories of Ms. Batten. She loved her students and we loved her.

Since the first time I met your mother, Helen, I felt as if I had another mother. I will miss her constant smile and wonderful friendship. She was such a great LADY!

I remember Ms. Batten from Humes High School.  She was one of the sweetest and best teachers.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family and just know she's in God's hands now and one day you all will see her again.  Cherish your precious memories of her.  She was so loved and admired by her students at Humes High.

Sue was one of the sweetest ladies that I have ever met. She will be greatly missed! Jean and Helen, you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

The best grandmother a girl could have.  I am so blessed to have had her in my life. I will forever cherish the memories. Love you Grandma.
