Tan Quang Le, age 82, died on Saturday, November 20th, 2021, in his home in Memphis, TN. He was born on April 4th, 1940, in Saigon, Vietnam to Ngay Van Le & Anh Kim Nguyen. Tan was the second youngest of nine children. His siblings were Chieu Quang Le, Doi Quang Le, Dinh Kim Le, Tuyet Kim Le, Hien Quang Le, Qui Quang Le, Toan Quang Le, and Hao Quang Le. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and one grandchild. Tan is survived by his wife of 7 beautiful years of courtship and 55 years of marriage, Nga Tien. He has 5 children named Hong Lien Thi Le, Van Le Hall, Liem Quang Le, Kelly HongLe Quach, and Leon Minh Le, giving Tan and Nga a total of 12 grandchildren and 2 grandchildren-in-laws.
Tan was a Vietnam War Veteran, having fought from 1962 to 1975. From 1965 to 1966, he studied overseas at Fort Gordon, Georgia at its Military Police School. In 1992, Tan, his wife, and five children immigrated to the United States, settling in Memphis, Tennessee. He worked at the National Guard from 1992 until his retirement in 2008.
Tan was known to be generous, charitable, loving, courageous, and compassionate with family, friends, and to everyone that he met. He never let any of his family members leave without telling them that he loved them. Tan had an endless passion for learning, speaking three languages (Vietnamese, English, French) and doing what he could to keep busy and active. He leaves behind his wife, sister, brother, five children, five children-in-laws, twelve grandchildren, and two grandchildren-in-laws.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27th, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122.
