William was a Navy and Army Reserve veteran. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was very much loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He worked hard all his lifetime to support his family often working 2 or 3 different jobs.
William leaves behind his wife, Velma Brown, his two daughters, Wanda Brown Jewell and Janice Rene Birchett, his grandchildren, William Alonzo Forrester III and Leslie Rene Knight, and his great-grandchildren, Amber Rene Knight and William Alonzo Forrester IV.
The services will be held at the Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119 on Thursday January 22, 2026. The viewing will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. There will be no graveside service.
