

Bernice Mary Herman, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011. She was born in Rib Lake on January 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Thomas) Forslund. In 1947, she married her loving husband of 49 years, Eugene Herman. He preceded her in death in 1996. Together they raised their family of 5 children on First Street in Menasha along with loving and lifelong neighbors. Bernice was a proud, lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. She enjoyed crocheting and always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a dedicated homemaker, her family was the most important part of her life.
Bernice is lovingly survived by her children: Linda (Dick) Dutkievic, Karen (Tony) Eckstein, Nancy (Steve) Geise, Diane (Tim) Mattson, John (Stephanie) Herman; grandchildren: Jody, Kelly, Sara, Rita, Joshua, Jamie, Jolene, Devin, Isaac, Ashley; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Austin, Madison, Evelina, Mitchell, Emma, Gage, Alondra, Salma, Taylor, Seth, Owen; brother, Carl (Lois) Forslund, sister, Myrtle Kucera and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice is preceded in death by her sister, Mable Braemer.
Funeral Services for Bernice will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Friends will be received for visitation from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. The Committal will be held at Highland Memorial Park.
