With profound sadness, the family of Dimas Avila announces his passing on May 20, 2025, at the age of 77. He will be laid to rest at Desert Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Calimesa, California.
Dimas was born on July 27, 1947, in Petatlán, Mexico, to Rafael Avila and Francisca Perez. He dedicated more than fifty years of his life to the craft of carpet installation, working with diligence and pride to provide for his family. Beyond his trade, he found joy in the simple things especially spending time with his loved ones and watching classic Mexican films, particularly those starring Mario Almada and Jorge Reynoso.
Dimas was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was first married to Hilda Monge, with whom he shared twenty-three years of marriage and a loving family. After her passing, he continued to build a life grounded in love and unity with his second wife, Norma Avila, who survives him. Together, they raised their children Victor Ruben and Vanessa.
He is also survived by his children from his first marriage: David Avila, along with his wife Esther and their children David Jr., Raquel, and Yennifer; Edilma Avila and her son David Hugo; Elizabeth Hernandez and her husband Bladimir, and their children Victor Manuel and Abigail; Albert Avila and his wife Veronica; Karina Rivera and her husband Luis Miguel, and their son Zahid; Yuri Gutierrez and her husband Miguel, and their sons Miguel Victor, Isaac, and Mateo; and Daniel Avila with his wife Anai and their son Nathaniel.
He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Rubith Avila, and leaves behind her children, Renemanuel and Roza, who will always carry his memory in their hearts.
Dimas will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his gentle spirit, and the love he poured into his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped and the warmth he shared so freely. He was the heart of his family and will be deeply missed.

Con profunda tristeza, la familia de Dimas Avila anuncia su fallecimiento el 20 de mayo de 2025, a la edad de 77. Será sepultado en Desert Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park en Calimesa, California.
Dimas nació el 27 de julio de 1947 en Petatlán, México, hijo de Rafael Ávila y Francisca Pérez. Dedicó más de cincuenta años de su vida al oficio de la instalación de alfombras, trabajando con diligencia y orgullo para mantener a su familia. Más allá de su oficio, encontró la alegría en las cosas sencillas, especialmente pasar tiempo con sus seres queridos y ver películas clásicas mexicanas, en particular las protagonizadas por Mario Almada y Jorge Reynoso.
Dimas fue un esposo, padre y abuelo devoto. Primero estuvo casado con Hilda Monge, con la que compartió veintitrés años de matrimonio y una entrañable familia. Tras su fallecimiento, continuó construyendo una vida basada en el amor y la unidad con su segunda esposa, Norma Ávila, que le sobrevive. Juntos criaron a sus hijos Víctor Rubén y Vanessa.
También le sobreviven los hijos de su primer matrimonio: David Ávila, junto con su esposa Esther y sus hijos David Jr, Raquel, y Yennifer; Edilma Avila y su hijo David Hugo; Elizabeth Hernandez y su esposo Bladimir, y sus hijos Victor Manuel y Abigail; Albert Avila y su esposa Veronica; Karina Rivera y su esposo Luis Miguel, y su hijo Zahid; Yuri Gutierrez y su esposo Miguel, y sus hijos Miguel Victor, Isaac, y Mateo; y Daniel Avila con su esposa Anai y su hijo Nathaniel.
Fue precedido en la muerte por su amada hija Rubith Avila, y deja atrás a sus hijos, Renemanuel y Roza, quienes siempre llevarán su memoria en sus corazones.
Dimas será recordado por su inquebrantable ética de trabajo, su espíritu gentil y el amor que derramó en su familia. Su legado perdura en las vidas que forjó y en la calidez que compartió tan libremente. Era el corazón de su familia y le echaremos mucho de menos.
